Assalamualaikum Wr. Wb.,

Greetings everyone. We are deeply grateful to God Almighty for His guidance and protection, allowing us, fellow General Practitioners and Pediatricians to gather once again at the 13th Annual Scientific Meeting of Indonesian Pediatric Society (PIT IKA XIII) in Malang 2025.

The taglines, “Marvelous, Seamless, and Kinship Soirée” highlight the the bond that unites us, one that transcends time and region. This bond allows us to develop thorough and calculated collective decisions during our meetings. By sharing our knowledge, expertise, and time and utilizing the newest technological breakthrough, we aim to address the current challenges and obstacles faced by pediatricians in improving children's health across the nation.

As we are all aware, this year’s theme is “Eco-friendly Pediatric Science for Ensuring the Sustainability of Future Generation”. In the face of rapid technological advancements, we are presented with opportunities to create a better environment for future generations. Many health issues affecting children are closely linked to environmental factors such as pollution, air quality, and the growing accumulation of plastic waste. In alignment with the “Go Green Congress,” we will work towards reducing plastic waste, embracing energy-efficient solutions with lower carbon emissions, and harnessing the power of Artificial Intelligence (AI). These actions will help mitigate the environmental damage that has long been a global concern for children’s health.

We hope that the 13th Annual Scientific Meeting of the Indonesian Pediatric Society (PIT IKA XIII) in Malang, East Java, from October 10-14, 2025, will inspire further advancements, empowering us as general practitioners and pediatricians. Our role is pivotal in improving child healthcare and ensuring their healthy development and well-being.

Assalamualaikum Wr. Wb.,

Distinguished colleagues, professors, and honored guests,

Climate change and fluctuations in global temperatures have posed persistent challenges over the years, bringing with them direct and indirect health concerns that disproportionately affect our children. Vulnerable children are especially at a disadvantage, as they often bear the brunt of these environmental shifts. Unpredictable weather patterns and rising temperatures have heightened the spread of vector-borne diseases, increased air pollution, and contributed to food insecurity, all of which have a detrimental impact on the growth and development of future generations.

As healthcare professionals committed to the well-being of children, it is our responsibility, as members of the Indonesian Pediatric Society (IDAI), to confront the health risks associated with climate change. Through the Annual Scientific Meeting of the Indonesian Pediatric Society (PIT), we aim to advance the knowledge of child health and enhance the skills of pediatricians and general practitioners across Indonesia, by making use of the help of Artificial Intelligence (AI), enabling them to tackle these emerging health challenges.

The Indonesian Pediatric Society (IDAI) has entrusted the Indonesian Pediatric Society of East Java with the organization of the 13th Annual Scientific Meeting of the Indonesian Pediatric Society (PIT IKA), which will be held from October 10-14, 2025. This event will feature contributions from seven specialized working groups—Allergy-Immunology, Cardiology, Endocrinology, Gastroenterology-hepatology, Infection and Tropical Diseases, Respirology, and Imaging—as well as four Task Forces focused on Adolescent Health, Stunting, Breastfeeding, and Artificial Intelligence. The theme of this year's meeting, “Eco-friendly Pediatric Science for Ensuring the Sustainability of Future Generations,” reflects the urgent need for sustainable solutions in pediatric healthcare.

The meeting will include Keynote Speeches, Plenary Sessions, Plenary Symposia, Parallel Symposia, Breakthrough Symposia, Lunch Symposia, Breakfast Meetings, "Meet the Expert" sessions, Workshops, and Free Paper Symposia. Additionally, this event offers a platform for junior members of IDAI and general practitioners to showcase their research and clinical expertise.

We expect the participation of professors, pediatric consultants, general pediatricians, residents, and practitioners from all corners of the nation. To ensure the success of this crucial event, we urge full support from all involved parties. We look forward to a fruitful and impactful meeting, and hope it will advance our collective efforts in improving child healthcare across Indonesia.
